Malacca "Cari makan"

Went to Malacca last Saturday at about 8pm with Mel. We actually planned it since last week. Really need to get a way from KL busy life sometime.

Mel drove quite slowly about 100 km/hrs. Guess he was a bit tired and he told me he can't see really well in the dark. Well....we finally reach there about 10.30pm.

The first thing we did of course to "cari makan" literally looking for food. We actually eaten McDonald before depart but well if you are in Malacca, the first and only thing you must do is to eat and it have to be at Jonker Street else you wouldn't be consider even being there!

But of course it was getting late and most stalls were  half-closed. We managed to find a local stalls and ordered asam laksa for me, curry mee for him, cendol and that's all.

We then proceed to the night market. Since I had been there so many times there isn't really much interesting stuffs. And then...I found some Angry Birds dolls! Haha...I actually went crazy and bought four different sizes dolls to put inside my car. Gosh, they are so adorable!

And of course there are pubs and bistro filled with tourist, locals and passerby. The most famous pub of all is Geographer Cafe in Malacca where the popular movie "Summer Mo Mo Cha" starring Hong Kong superstars Sammy Cheng and Richie Ren took place.

We didn't went in as it was too crowded. Instead we found cozy quite bistro "The Bistro 1673@Jonker Street". It had a live band (although in my opinion the singers did pretty bad) and the staffs are friendly. Though the drinks are a bid costly.

It was getting late and we decided to start looking for hotel. Thinking that it was non-peak season we didn't make an reservation. To our dismay most of the hotels were fully booked. We search for a few hotels and was thinking to go back to KL if we still couldn't find any. Luckily we did managed to get a quite decent hotel at Jalan Laksamana.

The next day, its the "cari makan" day again. Thought of eating nyoya food but since Mel had not try the pork satay before, we decided to try it. Its taste nice really.
